During this event, you will learn essential techniques in video editing, color correcting, and audio mixing using Final Cut Pro. Sessions and panel discussions are presented by Apple Certified instructors.
The Apple product team and representatives will be onsite to present Apple Pro Video updates! This unique opportunity allows attendees to engage directly with the team behind their favorite video editing software, Final Cut Pro.
Doors open at 8:30 am.
Presentations will begin at 9:00 am and will run until 5:15 pm.
Followed by a social mixer and expo night from 5:30–7:30 pm.

Abba Shapiro
Abba Shapiro is an Adobe and Apple Master Trainer, certifying university and training center instructors to teach Adobe Premiere Pro. Abba is an award-winning writer/producer/director. He has worked for a wide range of commercial, corporate and federal clients, including: USA Today, NASCAR, The Associated Press, NASA, Univision, Major League Baseball, Showtime, Viacom, The Discovery Channel, and CNN. Over the past 15 years Abba has created on-line training courses covering everything from Video Editing and Color Correction to how to shoot, light, and edit an interview. His courses air on CreativeLive, LinkedIn Learning, and RippleTraining. He is also the author of several video editing books. Abba also is a regular speaker at several international broadcasting conferences including NAB, IBC, InterBee, Photoshop World, and AdobeMAX. Some of the courses he teaches include, Video Editing, Scriptwriting, and all aspects of Video Production. Sam Mestman
Sam Mestman is the Chief workflow architect for OWC and the founder of We Make Movies (www.wemakemovies.org), LumaForge, and FCPWorks. As a professional editor and colorist, he has worked for Apple, ESPN, Glee, and Break Media (to name a few), and has edited or colored hundreds of shorts, features, web series, and probably every other type of content you can think of. His specialty is the Apple creative ecosystem and he is also the architect behind some of the largest FCPX integrations in the world, including Focus, the world’s first studio feature edited with Final Cut Pro X. On the video educations side, his Smartphone Studio mobile filmmaking workshops (www.smartphonestudio.tv) are taught in person and remotely to communities around the world and his focus is democratizing filmmaking and storytelling for everyone no matter who they are or where they live.

Steve Douglass
Steve Douglass is an Apple Distinguished Educator who has taught New Media at Lake Forest High School on the North Shore of Chicago since 2005. Steve created showNtell as an effort to democratize the video storytelling process he learned while at ESPN producing highlights for SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight and ESPNews. ShowNtell was first an iOS app, and is now a fully customizable process and structure based on what Steve learned from producing over 10,000 student videos. It has enabled students to tell their personal story authentically to their specific audience. This was proven at a regional level through the Chicago Summer Stories program and now with remote learning, it can transform student learning around the world.
Gabriel Cowan
Gabriel Cowan is the CEO of Audio Design Desk, which won 2022 NAB Product of the Year, CES Innovator and Fast Company’s “Next Big Thing In Tech” with its AI-assisted software suite that reinvents the process of creating audio for video. He is also a Sundance and International Fellow Program (IFP) member as well as an award winning filmmaker who has produced over 20 feature films, out of which more than a dozen have premiered at major festivals. As a musician, he is a multi-platinum recording artist who has played and recorded with Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, Robbie Robertson, and the Tower Of Power. Gabe serves on the boards of Inside OutWriters, an organization that heals trauma through writing classes for kids in juvenile hall, and Common Sense Media, an organization with Eighty Five Million subscribers which promotes better digital citizenship for our children.
